Meet The Man With No Middle
Dan-o Voodie here, welcome to our website.
Let me tell you a little about myself. There’s two things I enjoy doing when I get a chance. The first is music (of course) and the other is FISHING (yes, fishing).
My musical influences are The Ramones (my all-time favorite), Misfits, Exploited, Social Distortion, Fear, Motorhead and recently The Dictators (you’ll have to see them live to understand). The list goes on and on but you get the idea.
I’ve been playing bass for about ten years (and I still suck) but I have an ass kickin time doing it. I love playing shows, that’s the best part of being a musician.
Now I’d like to give some words of wisdom, advice (ok – idle ramblings) on some things I’d like to think I know about, so here it goes…
How To Be A Rock Star (at least locally): Most important, play what you like and have a good time doing it… unless you want to get signed, then you should do the following things: take lessons and practice.
How To Be A Punk Rocker: You may have noticed from the pictures that I have a mohawk (god help you if you didn’t). The question I’m asked most often is how I get it to stand up and stay up. You only need two things: a blow dryer and Aqua Net Extra Super Hold hair spray. Aqua Net is the best. I’ve tried everything: mousse, gel and other kinds of hair spray and Aqua Net Extra Super Hold is the best.
First thing to do is soak your hair with the hair spray in the position you want it to stay in, then dry it with the blow dryer. That’s all there is to it.

Words of Wisdom from the Fishin' Musician
I live in upstate New York. There’s lakes, rivers, ponds and streams right in my back yard (so to speak). Close to home, I can fish for Rainbow and Brown Trout, Salmon, Steelhead, Walleye, Northern Pike, Muskie, Bass, the list goes on and on.
Fishing Tip: In winter I do a lot of ice fishing. I use the old wooden tip-ups and the wind blows a lot of flags up. Then you think you have a fish on, so you pull it up, and… nothing.
This old guy I ran into fishing one time gave me an awesome tip so I’ll relay it to you, right here on the Punch Drunk Monkeys site:
All you need is a button with at least two holes in it. Before you tie the hook on, slip the button on your line. Then tie up your rig as usual. When you set your depth, slide the button up the line and have it rest on top of your spool so you can see it through the hole. This way if a flag goes off all you have to do is look to see if the button is gone. If it is, you have (or had) a fish. If it’s still on top it’s a false alarm.
Also, if you get a fish or have to change bait, your depth is already set. This will save you a lot of time pulling your tip-up out of the water and putting it back.
